In 1987, the name giver Aurelio Montes, Pedro Grand, Douglas Murray and Alfredo Vidaurre founded the Montes winery in Chile. The vision of the winery is to conquer the entire world market with high-quality wines from Chile. Today, the winery cultivates about 750 hectares of vineyards and also produces their excellent wine in Argentina and California.

The Montes Classic Series includes wines that represent the outstanding value of Chile and are therefore true ambassadors.
Grapes are hand-picked and transported to the winery with extreme care to reduce grape damage to an absolute minimum.
The grape varieties used are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

The vineyards of Colchaga Valley are among Chile’s best growing areas.
Elegance and exquisite fruit make this wine almost irresistible to the Merlot lover.
Aging in American oak gives this wine structure, finesse and good cellaring potential.
Tasting notes:

Dense and dark purple color with violet reflections in the glass. On the nose of sweet berries, brown spices, mocha chocolate, vanilla notes and oak aromas. On the palate juicy, full-bodied, fruity of ripe berries, cake spices, baking cocoa, tea leaves and wood notes. Well-embedded tannins enrich the palate. Spicy and lively finish.

Drinking temperature: 17-19 °C.

This wine is excellent with spicy minced meat dishes, pasta dishes or semi-hard cheeses
